  On the morning of June 9, the Beida Jade Bird International Education’s Campus Lecture Tour arrived at Shijiazhuang No. 36 Middle School, and Professor Gao, an expert working with Beida Jade Bird International Education and professor of Peking University, and a senior consultant for study in the U.S. delivered an excellent lecture to the students of Shijiazhuang No. 36 Middle School.The lecture covered a broad range of topics, including making a plan for life, staying motivated, academic development, career development, what life is like studying in the U.S., and guidelines for studying abroad.

 

  Professor Gao presented a lively and rich philosophical lesson to students through a lecture on the current reality with rich examples and stories full of meaning. He also mentioned that the part of a life plan focused on the time in high school should be specific on four basic issues: self-positioning, interests, strengths and self-expectation.Clarifying these issues require the application of ten principles, including "reasonable expectations" and "flexibility"; and only by doing so can life be full of motive power. He also pointed out that a good life plan needs a life goal, goal for each stage, conditions to be met for the fulfillment of the goal at each stage and timely perfection of the goals, and finally, through the life plan, the realization of one’s ideals .

 

  The Beida Jade Bird International Education's senior consultant for study in the U.S. shared the course of his own growth with students, and according to his own thoughts and investigation of American education, presented an in-depth analysis on the improvement of individual value and social value of Chinese students through study in the U.S.  Furthermore, the consultant advocated classmates formulate their academic and life plans with a more open-minded outlook and international perspective.

 

  This lecture is a jumpstart project for the "Office of International Education Cooperation" jointly established by Beida Jade Bird International Education and Shijiazhuang No. 36 Middle School.The purpose of the "Office of International Education Cooperation" is to assist schools in reforming the curriculum system, course content and teaching method; improve the teaching ability and foreign language proficiency of teachers; accelerate the internationalization process of teaching and comprehensively enhance the teaching quality and operation standards for schools.

 

  According to reports, Shijiazhuang No. 36 Middle School was founded in 1971, and located at the intersection of the west 2nd Ring Road and Xinhua Road in the city of Shijiazhuang. The school specifically focused on vocational education and named by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Board of Education. It is also a labor and technical education center for Xinhua District and a key vocational school in Shijiazhuang.Since Principal Li Yongcun was transferred to the school in 2008, there has been comprehensive reform of the overall teaching environment and management of the school; and furthermore, teaching quality and operation standards for the school have seen significant improvement. The school has won many honorary titles such as " Hebei Province Model School for Autonomous Learning and Independent Development", " Hebei Province Olympics of the Mind: Advanced Innovative Education School ", "Shijiazhuang Vocational Education Specialty School", and "Leaders with Outstanding Performance".
